Make a Hexagon Bokeh
effect :
Hey Guys :
I suggest you review it
as it includes similar steps for this tutorial also.
So What we are going to
make is a Hexagon Bokeh effect Inspired from Abduzeedo
well here is the final
result :
Photoshop Steps :
Step 1 :
Creating the Hexagon Brush Engine
Step 2 :
Inserting the Gradient
Step 3 :
applying Hexagon Effect
Step 4 :
Finalizing
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 1 : Creating
Hexagon Brush
-Create a new
Project then hide
the main layer
-Then
From shapes make a hexagon shape with 6
Sides ,any size you like
-fill it
with black then drop its opacity to 40-50 %
-from blending
options choose stroke then increase the size
to 13
-Select the
shape By CTRL+CLICK on the layer
thumbnail and from Edit >> Define
Brush and name it .
as
below:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 2 :
Generating Gradient
- Now for generating
gradient make a new " Project " , you may delete the
previous one at
step
1
- for the new
layer choose gradient overlay from blending options
- choose dark
colors " very dark colors " , then choose the angle suits you , here
I
used 35
-
Press OK then the result will be as follows :
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 3 :
Applying the Hexagon Effect
-Now for applying
the Hexagon effect :
- choose the brush
then choose the brush we previously created
- from brush
" window " and apply these values to this brush .
-Then create
a new GROUP then make a new layer
-remember change
the group blend mood to color dodge not the
layer
- now with the
brush make shapes like below just hold click and hover over the
screen .
-Then add Gaussian
blur to the layer by applying this filter
Filter >
Blur > Gaussian Blur >> Radius = 2
-Then Duplicate
that layer and apply the same Filter but increase the radius
this time to
5 px
-Then select
the whole Group and from Layer > Layer mask > reveal all
.
click on the mask
Thumbnail on the group icon and add :
Filter >
Render > Clouds .....
make sure you grab the white&Black Color as foreground
and background color
-then from Filter
> Blur > Gaussian Blur .....Increase the radius to 20
-Now on top of
the gradient background layer make a new layer then add clouds like
before and blur it
by Gaussian blur but with size
70-80 PX then change its blend mood to
color dodge .
Now we Finished the Step
3
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 4 :
Finalizing
-on top of all layers
make a new layer and change its blend mood to color
dodge
then grab a big
size brush with zero hardness and white
color
-Now make a new
layer on top of the previous and change its blend mood to color
dodge
then with the gradient
tool change its concepts to : - gradient type = Noise
- Check on : Restrict
colors & Add
transparency
- change to angle then
grab it and
make a
gradient like below :
-Then blur
it with Gaussian blur with size 10 PX
add with the same
star brush a spot on the center of the gradient
-Now add
another layer & keep its blend mood as normal then fill it
with black color
and with the
eraser , erase on the middle of the image on the black layer
it will give us
the vintage effect
you will notice
the dark sides of the picture below :
And here are
the layers we have made yet :
-Now for the final
procedure :
-select all layers
then merge them
after that duplicate
the layer and duplicate it one more time
- for the top layer : reduce opacity to 30 % and mood to
screen .
- for the beneath layer : reduce opacity to 40 % and mood to
color dodge
Now I want you to Go up
and check back the final result
Hope you like it
